How To Prepare for School

Follow these steps, and you'll be ready!

1. Create a Daily Pass in the morning before coming to school

2. Take a screen shot of the pass, and save it on your phone, or print a copy
3. If you have an outside COVID Test, bring a copy to school
4. Check Schoology for your schedule. You’ll report to period 1 first.

5. If you don’t have a schedule, we’ll help you find one in the Lunch area, or the MPR
6. If you have an old student ID (even from another school), bring it with you and show it at the gate – this is optional, but will help speed up the process.
7. Faculty and staff will be at every gate to help students find their classrooms.

8. Above all else, drive carefully, and keep our students safe!
WE NOW HAVE TWO LUNCH PERIODS
Lunch A
11:49 to 12:19 (Right after Period 4.)
For All 6th Graders, and Magnet 7th Grade Advisories.

Lunch B
12:25 to 12:55 (Right before Period 5.)
For all 8th Graders, and Charter 7th Grade Advisories.

CHROMEBOOKS
If you do not have a Hale-issued Chromebook from last year, go to device.lausd.net to request one. Please do not come to campus to pick up Chromebooks. We will issue student Chromebooks after we return to campus. If your device is not working, we will arrange to exchange it after we return to school.
*Students may use their own device, but parents assume responsibility for loss or damage.

COVID TESTING / CONSENT

Hale Families,
We will have COVID testing for students and staff on Thursdays this year. Students who have already taken an LAUSD COVID test will be brought to testing from their PE classes automatically.
If your child took a COVID test at an LAUSD school, you will not need to give consent for them to be tested on Thursdays. If your child was not tested with LAUSD, you can give consent on the Parent Portal, by following the instructions.
You would log in to dailypass.lausd.net and look for the Consent link at the top of the page. See the attachment for full instructions.
MORE THAN A MEAL
Please complete this meal application which is required of every family, each school year. Even though the district will provide meals free of charge to all families, the information collected in the form will be important for us to understand the needs of the families in our community.

TRANSPORTATION

For families in our magnet or special education programs who are wondering about transportation eligibility, the district sent home letters to parents with information about routes and pickup times this week. If you did not receive a letter, you can find this information on the parent portal. Look for the school bus icon.

FAMILY GUIDE
Download the Family Guide to learn everything you need to know about the District's plans for full, in-person instruction as we prepare to return to school this fall.
