PE Clothes
We will be selling PE clothes to students on Friday, August 27th and Monday August 30th. A full uniform (shorts and shirt) is $25 which can be paid by cash or check made payable to Hale Charter Academy. Send payment to school with your children.
Chromebooks
We will begin distributing Chromebooks to students in their advisories this week. All students will be issued a school Chromebook to use throughout the year. If you have not done so, please complete the survey at Device.lausd.net. You do not need to come to Hale to pick up a Chromebook.
If you have a borrowed Hale Chromebook, you may continue to use it this year. You should still complete the survey and indicate that you do not need a device. If you have a non-working Hale Chromebook, simply request one and bring the other one to school to exchange.
*Students may use their own device, but parents assume responsibility for loss or damage. Even if you plan to use your own, please complete the survey and indicate you do not need a device.
Picture Day
Thursday, August 26 during PE classes. Your child was given a Picture Day packet to bring home this week. The best way to place an order is through my.lifetouch.com. Use our School ID: EVT2FT7C4. Or you can send payment to school with your child on Thursday.
COVID Testing
COVID Testing at Hale will continue this Thursday, August 26. We plan to test those students who were not tested last week. If you haven’t given consent for your child to be tested, visit the Daily Pass/COVID Testing page on our website for two methods – either through the Daily Pass website, or by completing a paper form. If you use the form, please send it to school with your child on Thursday. Once your child has been tested at an LAUSD school, no further consent is needed.
Yearbooks
If you ordered a yearbook last year, the yearbook class has begun delivering them to students this week, and will continue to do so next week. We will also hold a pickup, and purchase day on Wednesday August 25, from 3:15 to 4:15 for anyone who has not received their order, or would like to purchase one for $60.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night is on Thursday, September 2. This will be a virtual, pre-recorded event, and an opportunity for parents to learn about their children’s teachers. More details to follow.
Admission Day
School will be closed on Friday, September 3 for Admission Day. This will be the first of five days during which school will be closed, including Labor Day (Sept. 6), and Rosh Hashanah (Sept. 7). School will resume on Wednesday, September 8.
