Course Description
Welcome to 8th grade Physical science class.
It is my intend to make this year academically challenging and enjoyable.
Students will develop skills necessary for success in the field of science. Instruction is based on inquiry (hands on) cooperative learning processes.
Students will conduct short inquiries and experiments to test a hypothesis. Students will be able to distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in an experiment, record, organize, graph, and evaluate scientific data.
Students will master many aspects of Physical science (Physics and Chemistry), as well as astronomy.
Students will meet and exceed the California Science Content Standards. These standards are posted in the classroom and are available on line www.cde.ca/gov/board.net
