H Science 8A (SAS) (Period 3)

Course Description

Physical Science:  We will cover topics based on the California State Science Framework for eight grade.  These standards are available on line at www.cde.ca./gov/board.  They are also found in the textbook at the beginning of each unit and are posted in the classroom.  Investigation and experimentation!
PHYSICS:  Motion, balanced and unbalanced forces, gravity, density and buoyancy.
CHEMISTRY:  Atomic structure, states of matter, properties and changes of matter, elements, periodic table, compounds, mixtures, chemical reactions, and the chemistry of the living things.
ASTRONOMY:  Solar system, stellar objects, relative motion of objects in the universe, the moon, the sun, galaxies.
A letter is sent home for classroom expectaions and supply list.  Work habits and cooperation grades are based upon meeting these expectations.
