Description
 Students in grade seven study the social, cultural, and technological changes that occurred in Europe, Africa, and Asia in the years A. D. 500Ð 1789. After reviewing the ancient world and the ways in which archaeologists and historians uncover the past, students study the history and geography of great civilizations that were developing concurrently throughout the world during medieval and early modern times. They examine the growing economic interaction among civilizations as well as the exchange of ideas, beliefs, technologies, and commodities. They learn about the resulting growth of Enlightenment philosophy and the new examination of the concepts of reason and authority, the natural rights of human beings and the divine right of kings, experimentalism in science, and the dogma of belief. Finally, students assess the political forces let loose by the Enlightenment, particularly the rise of democratic ideas, and they learn about the continuing influence of these ideas in the world today.

Black Death Brochure Project (60) due Tuesday, 04/19/16. Has to be done in ink, or colored pencil.  It may also be typed and use computer graphics, maps, charts , ect. This is a six panel brochure on one page of paper.  Both sides are used. It needs to be done in color and can be hand drawn or use pictures from internet.  Use paper in landscape position (horizontal) and fold into 3 panels. For a total of 6 using both sides. Students may work with a partner if they wish or alone. Examples are in files. Use the chart to collect information for the brochure questions and topics from the class powerpoints. Follow directions on the back to fill-in the key, label and color the map.  Use  blue or black ink to label all words (note: blue ink is only for water names) You can use black ink for all words. The entire map within the frame is to be colored. The colors need to be light enough to be able to read all of the names.  Note: if the coloring is so messy or dark as to be unable to read names, unreadable names will not count.
