Wizard of Oz Setting comparison. Students are to write down important facts about the setting in the chart for each place. Write down any similarities you can find in the middle. 

Find the clue. Read the paragraph on the handout to answer questions about the setting. I will post pictures for students who need to complete assembling notes from today.

Holes page chapter 37-39. Complete the cause and effect page by cutting out all the boxes and matching them with the cause and effect (make sure to draw a line or arrow to each pair. To get full credit it must be colored.

Creative Writing with A.J. And C.K. Students are to fill in the dialogue bubbles for the two characters. Students must use correct grammer and spelling.

Students are to complete the Holes Ch. 14 scrapbook page. Directions are to draw a description of the Warden on the handout given in class. Tomorrow we will glue the picture onto construction paper.

Holes Camp Green Lake Page-Students are to draw a picture of Camp Green Lake that was described in chapter 1 and 2. Students must include the elements listed on the handout, title and color the drawing. Students glue the drawing and title onto the yellow construction paper given to them in class.

Simple Subject and Simple Predicate practice-Students are to underline the simple subject and circle the simple predicate. 

Student are to read the Werewolves activity and draw a self-portrait in a werewolf costume. Write the materials for the costumes in the lines below. 

Students must put a red box around the Simple subject (noun) , and underline the complete subject. Draw a purple box around the Simple predicate (verb) and underline the complex predicate in purple.

Tuck Everlasting Letter-Students are to write a letter, pretending they are either Jesse Tuck ot Winnie Foster. The letter should start in letter format, with a greeting, date and 5-sentence paragraph. In the paragraph, students should give 3 reasons why the character is going to or not drink the spring water. In class, we will edit the letter and write a final draft.

Metaphors Practice worksheet-Students are to choose the correct word from the list and fill in the blank in the sentence. They may draw a line or write down the number that goes with the sentence.

Commas Practice Worksheet-Student must follow the comma rules learned in class today and correct the sentences given on the worksheet. Students can use their Notebooks for examples. 

Tuck Everlasting Take home Quiz chapters 6-11. Students can use any resources (i.e. Tuck Everlasting book, internet or parents) to answer the questions given in class. Answers can be 1 sentence or more. Below is a link to the worksheet with the questions. 

Capitalization Practice: Students underline the letter that should be capitalized and re-write the sentence correctly in the space provided. Students took home their notes from class to reference while doing homework. I will attach homework sheet and notes in the links below

Students are to write down adjectives for each character in Tuck Everlasting on the Acrostics Worksheet. For each letter of the character's name, write an adjective that starts with the letter that describes that character. For example, " the W in Winnie can stand for "Wonderful."

Students will circle the adjective and underline the noun that the adjective is describing. Complete the entire worksheet. 

Answer questions 1-3 on the worksheet given in class, from the reading. The questions are based on chapter 8 from Tuck Everlasting. All students took home a copy of the book that is to be brought back to school tomorrow. I will supply a home copy for students when needed. 

Chapter 5 Summary of Tuck Everlasting. Students must answer the questions on the hand-out provided in class and draw a picture describing something from the chapter. If you need another hand-out you can print one below. Due 8/26
