Art, disclosures and supplies

Greetings Hale Families,

Welcome Hale Visual Arts Families and Community! We are exploring Visual Art, creativity, problem-solving and brainstorming. As a Middle School teacher and former Theater/Drama teacher, I focus on a wholistic, individual student, first approach to education. I aim to teach students to think for themselves about their creativity and the content. Courses offered include, Advanced Art, General Art and Exploratory Art. If you have any questions regarding anything I am always here to help or to clear anything up via email and will give you my phone number or the information needed to connect and support you and your family. Don't hesitate. I appreciate your trust with your children. They are the future and we help provide them the content specific skills to go into the world, grow and become any possibility. Thanks and have a lovely day!

Mandatory Supplies for Art Classes (No Exceptions!)-
2 pencils (carbon or/and graphite)
1 hi-polymer eraser
1 pocket folder
1-Natural fabric (cotton, linen, wool, silk or cashmere) items of clothing or fiber houseware to dye with natural Indigo dye. This dye only adheres to non-synthetic fabrics. No blends will work or be accepted unless it is a blend of two or more of the previously listed fabrics. Items that students have dyed in the past include dresses, shirts, t-shirts, 100 % cotton socks, pants, shorts, a pillow case, a kitchen tea towel (non-absorbent) or small curtains. Large items take up too much dye and prevent other students from experimenting with the supplies.

Any and all donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated to ensure everyone gets to do this project. Up to 50 points of extra credit will be provided for bringing in extra supplies!

Optional Supplies for the more Advanced Artist-
Sketchbook
Colored Pencils
Markers
Thin Point Sharpie
Charcoal
Pastels-oil/chalk
Watercolor Palette
Any other art supplies your student enjoys using...

Donations and Classroom Supplies Needed-
As most of you are aware, our budgets are not huge and it is expensive to manage all the media and supplies we need for over 180 students in a Visual Arts Class. We cover a lot of intriguing projects and explore a variety of mediums. Please consider donating to our program or donating supplies. We always need something and are always very grateful. Some things get used quickly. I have compiled an extra credit list in case you have the time and the funding to assist us as a Visual Art's Program or in a specific class. Thanks so much and have a great day!

With gratitude,

Advanced bookbinding sketchbook: How to bind your sketchbook using the french linen and bookbinding needles and hoe placement. 1 hole in the middle 4 and 1/4 '' into the center and measure 2'' from the center hole to the right twice and 2'' to the left twice to create your five holes with the awl. Measure twice and create holes once. Then, bind correctly. Good luck. It will be fabulous, Don't worry at all!
