Finish It: Frozen River

We had finally made it up to our family's woodland cabin for our winter vacation. It was the quietest place in the world and our family loved to go there to get away from all the noise of life. In the room where I was staying, there was something new – a backpack – and on it was a note. The note read "Use these for the river. Don't open the backpack until you are there. You' ll know what to do".  I decided to accept the challenge. In the morning, before anyone else woke up, I headed out alone. When I got to the river, I noticed that it was frozen! This had never happened before. I opened the backpack and, what do you know, there were ice-skates in it. I put them on and stepped onto the ice. As I skated, I began to hear sounds coming from the ice.
