Samurai Resume Project 40 points- Due Wednesday 2/24
Directions: You are a masterless samurai who has been wandering the lands seeking for work. You have looked far and wide for a daimyo in need of a skilled warrior such as yourself. Unfortunately, you are having a run of bad luck and no one will even bother to interview you. You can not live with the "shame" of being a ronin and are nearing fulfilling your vow to commit seppuku.

To change your fortunes, you have decided to write a resume that summarizes your career as "one who serves". You hope that by reading the many adventures you have had, a lord will want to employ you as his samurai.

Directions: In your resume, you will highlight your career as an honorable samurai. The resume will contain five parts:
1. Contact Information: How will a daimyo be able to get in touch with you? You will provide this information somewhere at the top of the page. Include your name and place where you can be reached from an Island and city in Japan. (you may choose a samurai name or research a famous samurai).
2. Professional Experience: This highlights all the work you have done as a samurai. A minimum of 2-3 entries. For each separate job experience, include dates you were employed (month and year only) location of your employment, and a brief summary of the duties you were responsible of. Warning: do not use the same descriptions for each job.
3. Education: It would be wise to include where you trained as a warrior. Include the name and/or location of where your training took place, the length of time spent in each location, and a brief summary of what you studied at each location. A minimum of 2 entries.
4. Credentials/Certification: Do you have any special abilities as a samurai? Have you been aware of any special honor or award for being such an honorable warrior? If so, include these. List the title of the award/honor/official paper and give a brief description of what it was for.
5. Associations or Volunteer Work: Do you belong to a special organization? Do you devote your free time to helping those in need? Include the name of the organization with a brief description or describe the work.

Once you have completed your resume, you will then need to write a cover letter. A cover letter is information that is not contained in the resume. This typically tells more about you as a person, what your goals are, etc. Your cover letter should be between 3-5 paragraphs in length.
For you cover letter complete the following:
1. Write a brief biography of yourself that focuses on why you became a samurai.
2. Explain how important bushido is to your life as a samurai.
3. Describe why the relationship between a samurai and daimyo is important.
4. Your cover letter should include your contact information at the top of the page.
Letter must be written in formal language and typed.
