Classroom Procedures

Welcome to 6th grade STEAM English and Social Studies!

-Daily announcements, assignments and important classroom documents are posted on our Google Classroom page (please ask your child to view their account or email me to request your own access).

-Students' grades and digital portfolios are located on the Schoology platform. Please log in with your parent account to view your child's grades and communicate with teachers.

-Students store their consumable workbooks (for both English and Social Studies) in the classroom. When needed, they take them home and bring them back to class with the assignment completed.

-Homework is made up of unfinished work from class (long term projects or classwork) as well as assignments that prep students for the following day in class. These might include watching a short video clip, taking notes or cutting and pasting materials into their spiral/composition notebooks to get a head start for class the next day.

School Closure Update: Please click on the attached lesson plans (PDF file-below) for a detailed independent study agenda for the remainder of the closure. I will continue to post daily updates and assignments on Google Classroom and post grades for those assignments on Schoology. Students are being asked to check in and comment each day (on my daily post in Google Classroom) with a "check in" question.

If we are not back in school as of Monday, 3/30, students can expect to sign up for individual video conferences to check in, ask questions, and update me of their progress. Stay safe and stay in touch!
